You will work as a scientific researcher looking to build background knowledge on all aspects related to the Giant Panda. Each student will be assigned a different topic to research on their own and eventually meet with other students who are researching the same topic. After your group has compiled all of your data, you will present your topic to the class using a poster or powerpoint. Once every group has presented the background information needed on the Giant Panda, you will be able to devise your plan of recovery for this endangered species, which will be written as a proposal to WWF. Your job is not done though! You will still need to come up with ways to promote awareness about the decreasing population of the Giant Panda. Some advertisements include: A commercial, website, magazine article, and poster. It is in your best interest to be as creative as possible because the class will make a vote on the most effective advertisement and the winners will get extra credit points!
